It is actively engaged in international research and is developing and maintaining certification schemes, such as Europrivacy, the official European Data Protection Seal under Art. 42 GDPR. ECCP is particularly active in the following areas:
Regulatory Compliance Assessment and Certification
The European Centre for Certification and Privacy researches, develops and standardizes innovative certification schemes to assess and certify compliance with various laws and regulations.
Privacy and Personal Data protection
The European Centre for Certification and Privacy is serving as scheme owner of Europrivacy and Interprivacy, which enable to check, document, certify, and value compliance with the main obligations of international and regional data protection regulations, including GDPR compliance. It is researching and developing regulatory compliance assessment norms and methodologies.
Certification and labelling processes
The European Centre for Certification and Privacy is researching and developing innovative certification schemes combining ISO models and standards with emerging technologies and testing tools.
ICT and IoT certification
The European Centre for Certification and Privacy is supporting certification of information and communication technologies, encompassing products, services and information management systems. It is also directly supporting certification and labelling services such as the IPv6 Ready Logo program.
